Meet the team

After exiting TurboSquid for $101M in 2021 (Shutterstock, Autodesk), Matt took a break to look for his next thing. He created the Wisdom Foundation in 2023 to focus on fixing the infrastructure in New Orleans, taking an entrepreneurial and direct focus instead of the traditional grant making of a foundation. After getting as deeply into the weeds as he could, and seeing the intense complexity of government operations, it became clear that AI was the perfect (and maybe the only) way to approach the problem.

In 2024, Matt contacted Silviu Claponea, a prodigy engineer and entrepreneur in his own right and they started Civilized together. Silviu previously founded the largest free 3D model site in the world, and after being acquired by TurboSquid, worked with Matt for 7 years.
